KPMG is currently seeking an Associate in our Business Tax Services – Accounting Methods and Credits Services R&D Technology practice.

Responsibilities:
• Support teams of client and KPMG personnel in the execution of project work, monitor and support progress against project milestones to help ensure timely and high quality delivery of deliverables across a variety of clients within multiple industries 
• Project a professional image of KPMG and provide high quality service to our clients
• Complete various quantitative and qualitative analyses as dictated by the scope of each project
• Conduct on-site fieldwork and review of client R&D activities and related costs 
• Conduct interviews and collect data from company subject matter experts, including engineers and technical specialists, accounting, and finance personnel
• Analyze technical documents (technical papers, design documents, technical specifications and requirements, test logs and other materials) provided by clients to ascertain and document tax treatment of related projects
• Organize documentation and create work paper files
• Prepare technical project narratives and deliverables
• Perform reconciliations between financial and tax reporting of relevant expenditures
• Actively seek to build and broaden industry and technical knowledge
• Raise issues in a timely manner and provide thoughtful alternatives to resolve them
• Contribute to the evolution of our intellectual capital through assistance with development and evolution of our methodologies and tools, market research, and thought leadership articles
• Assist managers and partners in the creation of proposals, discussion documents, business development activities, and practice administration

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting with an Information Technology concentration, or other IT/Accounting/Finance/Information Management and Analytics related degree from an accredited college/university 
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data and analytics preferred
• Strong academic credentials
• Strong proficiency in basic PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques
• Ability to touch type and 50+ WPM preferred
• Strong client services delivery orientation including ability to take an active role executing engagements to client service standards 
• Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives and team members and build strong relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with technical writing preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, at times with relatively short notice
• Willing to work long hours (evenings/weekends) as needed to meet client deadlines
• Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, analytical and quantitative abilities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team of professionals at all levels
