Join GradSWE for a Meet and Greet with the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Research, Jeannette Wing! Jeannette Wing, PhD is known as an advocate for computational thinking and an expert in trustworthy computing, concurrent and distributed systems, as well as specification and verification. She has formerly served as the Assistant Director of the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate at NSF and the Department Head of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon. Confidence through Mind and Body Techniques: TED Talk Lunch
Tuesday, November 1st | Noon-1PM | 143 Mechanical Engineering Building 
Join us in watching two TedTalks followed by discussions in small groups. Amy Cuddy's "Your body language shapes who you are" explores how we can become more confident and powerful just through our body positions, and Eduardo Briceno's "Power of belief" discusses a growth mindset vs a fixed mindset. Group discussions will focus on how we can incorporate these ideas into our lives individually and help peers and students achieve success. Lunch will be provided.
