Outreach Opportunity: NanoSTRuCT
Friday, March 4th | 1-2:30PM | Booker T. Washington Elementary
Are you looking to expand your educational and outreach impact? Nanoscale Science and Technology Resources for Community Teaching (NanoSTRuCT) is a graduate student organized STEM outreach project partnering with Booker T. Washington Elementary (BTW) STEM Academy. In partnership with the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST), NanoSTRuCT delivers STEM and nanotechnology themed mini-lessons and hands-on activities to the entire 3rd grade at BTW.
We have 1 last visit planned for the spring on Friday 3/4 from 1:30-3:00PM. The theme will explore an area of nanotechnology. Graduate students will share one activity with small groups of third graders from BTW. We have designed individual activity pamphlets for each student to help keep the students engaged.
To express interest, please sign up at the linked form.

Eating healthy impacts your cognitive performance, increases productivity, and boosts your immune systems! Do you want to learn how to eat better in grad school, but don’t know where to start? Join us to learn about healthy eating, nutrition, and dieting from Justin Parel, a graduate student in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at UIUC. He will be discussing “flexible dieting,” a relatively new approach to dieting, and we will go through some healthy choices for eating out in the Champaign-Urbana area! Please RSVP for lunch here!
