3/30 Workshop with Jayson Maurice Porter - In My Backyard: Small and Affirming Ecologies

What does community mean to you? Do you think about how you can improve community engagement in your research? Do you wonder how you can leverage your position in academia to fight for environmental justice? If so, please join "In My Backyard: Small and Affirming Ecologies," a special event on Thursday, March 30 from 3:30-5:00 in IGB 612 with Jayson Maurice Porter, Voss Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society.

Jayson Maurice Porter, the 2023 NRES Student-Nominated Seminar Speaker, will be facilitating an additional workshop while visiting the University of Illinois. RSVPs are requested, and topic suggestions or discussion questions are welcome! This will be an open-format workshop, and participants will engage in critical discussions on what it means to build and support community in academia, with an emphasis on environmental justice.
